We listen, act, and transform
I was drawn to the helping profession through my love for people, our unique life experiences, and a deep desire to understand our process of healing. I have had the privilege to work with individuals feeling challenged by addiction, depression, anxiety, life stress, difficult relationships, health complications and trauma, to name a few. I believe that healing can only come from a trusting relationship, and through that trust, we can come to a place of resolution and a renewed sense of self and belonging. Most often, in therapy, we find that the road to healing is not linear, but is achievable. For some people, this takes a short time, and for others, it may take longer. My approach to care is person-centered and collaborative with the goal of helping clients achieve their most hoped for outcomes.
I obtained my Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychiatric Rehabilitation, with a minor in Psychology; and an Associates Degree in Addiction Studies from the Montana State University of Billings. I attended Graduate School in Boston, MA, where I attained a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work, from Simmons University. Simmons, together with Harvard University, pioneered the nation's first Clinical Social Work program in 1899. I have completed basic training and supervision in EMDR from EMDRIA and am currently pursuing full certification.
I hold dual licensure to practice in the State of Montana as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC).
